Ultrapure CD vs JIMMY Signed CD: Which Edition to Buy

The real difference is the extra, not the price

At the catalog price of $7.49 each, the Ultrapure CD and the JIMMY Limited Edition Signed CD cost the same. The decision comes down to what you want from the release: a full album on disc, or a full album plus a signed polaroid from the making of the record. Neither is a better album than the other — they are different Briston Maroney records with different extras.

What each edition includes

• Ultrapure CD: Briston Maroney's Ultrapure album on CD, with a 14-track list: Intro, Body, Breathe, Chaos Party, Sunburn Fades, Sunshine, Delaware, Detonator, The Idea, Spring, Sink;Swim, Skyline, and Ultrapure. No signed insert is listed in the supplied record.
• JIMMY Limited Edition Signed CD: Briston Maroney's third album, JIMMY, on CD, with a 12-track list from Jimmy (intro) through Be Yourself. It includes one of five different signed polaroid photos from the album-making process.

When the signed polaroid changes the math

The JIMMY CD is the only one of the two with a signed element in the supplied catalog record. That matters if you keep autographed items, display them, or buy a release partly for the extra. Because the polaroid is one of five different photos, the exact image you receive may vary — the listing does not promise a specific shot. If you want a guaranteed particular polaroid, that uncertainty is a real limitation, not a detail to ignore.

If you mainly want the music on a physical disc and do not care about signatures, the signed extra adds nothing to your listening. The Ultrapure CD keeps the purchase simple and gives you the standard album package.

Catalog evidence for the two CDs

• JIMMY - Limited Edition Signed CD: JIMMY is Briston Maroney's third album and includes 1 of 5 different signed polaroid photos from the album making process. This is the clearest reason to choose JIMMY over Ultrapure: a signed collectible is part of the package.

• Ultrapure CD: Ultrapure is Briston Maroney's Ultrapure album on CD, with a 14-track list including Intro, Body, Breathe, Chaos Party, Sunburn Fades, Sunshine, Delaware, Detonator, The Idea, Spring, Sink;Swim, Skyline, and Ultrapure. It confirms the full album is present on disc, so the standard edition is a complete listen rather than a single or sampler.

Decision rules for which CD edition to buy

• Choose the JIMMY Limited Edition Signed CD if…: You want a signed physical item from Briston Maroney, you are comfortable receiving one of five possible polaroids, and you want the third album on CD. The signed extra is the main reason to pick this edition at the same $7.49 price.
• Choose the Ultrapure CD if…: You want the Ultrapure album on disc and do not need a signature. The supplied record lists no signed insert, so treat it as the standard album edition.
• Buy both if…: You want both albums in your collection and value the signed polaroid separately from the music. At the catalog price, the pair is a straightforward two-album purchase rather than a collectible splurge.

What the listings do not confirm

The supplied records do not include care instructions, disc specifications, or packaging dimensions for either CD. That does not mean those details are absent from the full product documentation — only that they are not confirmed here. If packaging condition or disc format is critical to your purchase, check the product page before ordering rather than assuming a standard jewel case or digipak.

Likewise, the JIMMY listing does not confirm which of the five polaroids you will receive. Treat the signed photo as a genuine but variable extra, not a guaranteed specific image.
